Gerard Hemsworth

Gerard Hemsworth studied at St. Martin's School of Art from 1963-1967 and had exhibited his work internationally since the 1970s. Initially his work was associated with the conceptual art movement of the late 1960s/1970s, however since the early 1980s he has been making paintings. In 2000, he was the winner of the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition Charles Wollaston Prize. He has recently had exhibitions of his work at the Kunsthalle Bern and the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, and is currently Professor of Fine Art at Goldsmiths, University of London.
