Katty McMurray

Since graduating from Chelsea Art College Katty's work has been used for book covers illustrations and a wide range of commissions including the design for last years Brighton festival poster. Katty travels extensively to inspire fresh work and has already explored Morocco Vietnam India Italy Spain and Cuba. On her journeys Katty constantly fills her sketchbook with immediate impressions of hr environment. She quickly records lines shapes and colours and this quality of spontaneity is maintained in her brightly coloured and boldly outlined oil paintings. Her solo shows are always great success with the majority of her paintings selling on the opening night. Katty has made her studio in an old fisherman's arch on Brighton seafront where she enjoys working on several pieces at one time; this has proved to be a perfect creative atmosphere for this young energetic painter.
