Date: Repare! Por Favor showcases Rae's talent as a colourist, achieving beautiful depth and harmony of tone from a range of bold colours. She has used a variety of techniques to build up the layers of the composition, from printing, to collage, to paint. Her use of text in the piece was inspired by graffiti that she had seen in Spain, a country in which she has found much artistsic stimulation. The text in the image seems to act as a command, ordering the heart to repair itself: Repare! Below this magic word we see a heart at the moment of impact when its two halves are reunited. The section of printed text towards the top of the piece is in fact a list of artists' signatures, implying that art can help to mend a broken heart.
