Hemsworth's cartoon-like linear image in a flat synthetic colour field immediately seems to contradict itself; the cool subdued colours and restraint in composition feel very adult and sophisticated, in stark contrast with the comic strip stylisation and infantile subject matter. The intrigue continues as we ask ourselves, has a first kiss just been shared, a secret whispered or a heart broken? The meaning is there for us to decide.
