Published: Maurice Cockrill's semi-abstract piece is vibrant and optimistic. Clare's Inspiration is named after the CCA Galleries worker who liaised with the artists for the BHF project. The composition is created entirely by colour rather than form, a shift in these abstract colour fields creates the outline of a heart. The cacophony of colour that Cockrill creates suggests all the emotion, power and glory of the human heart. Thee gentle tones of light blue that seem to have been poured over the right side of the heart indicate healing and mending; a soothing balm.Cockrill's interest in Oriental art and caligraphy is reflected in the abstract shapes his colours take; the interior of the heart-shape are reminscent of Japanese characters perhaps revealing a story. Published by CCA Galleries, printed at Coriander Studio. Signed limited edition print. 24 Colours. Created especially to raise awareness and funds for the British Heart Foundation. All profits go to the BHF. |
