Manhattan- signed limited edition silkscreen print by architectural artist Brendan Neiland. From London to New York: Brendan Neiland explores the cityscape in Big Apple and Manhattan. Neiland walked around the city for several days sketching and taking photographs, and has combined the architectural elements that he found most interesting in two new silkscreen editions. Both focus on the soaring lines of skyscrapers and the beauty of the man-made landscape as a celebration of human endeavour. Reflections are a key motif in Neiland’s work, capturing fleeting moments that we miss as passers-by; he is fascinated by the dichotomy of what is visible depending on the viewpoint. Both works evoke the energy, movement and freedom of the individual that is at the core of the Big Apple. |
