Figurative Art

Figurative art is a term used to describe artwork and in particular paintings, which clearly depict real objects as the source of inspiration or the subject. Because of this Figurative art can be defined as representational. The term "figurative art" is often used to describe art which represents the human figure or even the figure of an animal, and, although this is often the case, it is not necessarily so.
